Before attending law school, Attorney Nancy Baratta began her career
as a social worker for the Department of Children and Families (DCF).
For twelve years Nancy was an Assistant Regional Counsel
representing DCF in Care and Protection (C and P) and Children
Requiring Assistance (CRA) cases before the Juvenile and Probate
Courts. From 2007 to 2023, Nancy was a managing attorney for the
Children and Family Law Division (CAFL) of the Committee for Public
Counsel Services (CPCS), commonly known as the Massachusetts
Public Defender’s office. Nancy has extensive experience
representing children and parents in cases where DCF removes
children from their homes because of claims of neglect or abuse.
