A Message of Thanks Giving
To all those who have opened your homes and hearts to children in need,
this message is for you:
On this day of gratitude, I want to say how thankful I am for all of you who are part of this organization, the foster and adoptive families I’ve met on this journey, and the sweet kiddos (and even the not-so-sweet ones) who have been in and through our home. Creating this group, and strengthening this community has been a calling for so long, and I’m grateful to be building All Our Kids, Inc. with all of you, but especially Kyle Belanger, Sarah Aasheim, Jaime Simmons, and Heather Adams (who all founded the organization with me), and my partner, Kelley, for her openness and willingness to have some of this craziness in our lives.
I think you’ll see a lot of growth in All Our Kids in the next year, and a lot of that will be due to the support, advocacy, and trust of all of you. So, thank you.
But most of all I am grateful that in a culture that is increasingly okay with stepping on others to get ahead and keeping the disenfranchised away from our front doors, there are still those of us who look out in the world and ask, “where can I help? Who needs me? What can I do?” The most vulnerable children in our communities will always need care. And if not us, then whom? I’m deeply grateful to those of you who have answered that need. You are making an amazing difference, whether you can see it right now or not.
Not everyone has what it takes to walk in our shoes. This is a special community, with exemplary people. And I’m so proud to be among you.
Happy Thanksgiving.
With love and appreciation,
