All Our Kids, Inc.

All Our Kids, Inc is a Western MA-based, grassroots, nonprofit organization committed to empowering foster and adoptive families to thrive by enriching community connectedness, providing education and resources, and helping the public understand and support our families’ experiences. After significant growth over the last few years, AOK has a variety of programs, many of which rely on volunteers for sustainability. AOK also relies on partnerships with community organizations and businesses to meet the needs of our organization and the families we support.

 

Position Overview

Reporting to the AOK Executive Director, the Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator (VOC) is a 12 hr/week position. The VOC will work largely independently and remotely, with supervision, to recruit, retain, and manage both our cohort of volunteers (primarily) and community partnerships (secondarily). The VOC will also coordinate and collaborate with other AOK staff to understand and help fill the volunteer needs of our programs.

Responsibilities

In consultation and/or partnership with AOK Executive Director and other AOK staff:

  • Manage current AOK volunteers through clear, direct, ongoing communication, and recruit new volunteers as needed
  • Participate in creating and delivering volunteer training opportunities
  • Manage data related to volunteer participation
  • Plan volunteer appreciation events and initiatives
  • Provide communication and outreach support, through both electronic (e.g., newsletter, social media) and in-person (phone, in-person) communications
  • Represent All Our Kids faithfully and professionally in all relevant interactions.
  • Fulfill other program responsibilities as assigned by the AOK Executive Director.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in volunteer management, outreach coordination, and/or community engagement. Interest in understanding the MA Foster Care System is a must, and previous child welfare experience would be helpful. Success in the position requires a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, extraversion and being a “people” person, perseverance, flexibility, and a healthy dose of humor. In addition:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people from all backgrounds; multilingual is a plus
  • Comfort with independence, and taking initiative
  • High level of courtesy and professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google GSuite, and Zoom platforms
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed (for special events, usually)
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Western Massachusetts

Compensation & Employment Conditions

This is a part time position, starting at 12 hrs/week, with the opportunity to increase hours over time.

Starting salary is $23.50/hr. The position comes with a flexible schedule and working environment, and no fringe benefits. AOK provides a supportive work environment, with an inspiring and fulfilling organizational mission.
