Covid-19 Community Fund supported 32 local families
Our current global pandemic has stressful and frightening for all of us. In addition to the health concerns many of us have had, millions of people have either lost their jobs or lost income as a result of Covid-19. As we start to see our way out of this dark time, we can look back at how far we’ve come in the last year.
For foster and adoptive families, the economic and social realities of the pandemic have made it even harder to meet the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children. At AOK, our mission is to do everything we can for the foster and adoptive families we serve, and to engage the larger community in helping us. With support of community agencies and the generosity of our neighbors, many local nonprofits have done their part to help families get back on their feet, financially and emotionally.
With the support of a generous anonymous donor, AOK was pleased to make our COVID-19 Community Fund available over the past year. The fund provided 32 local foster and adoptive families with small grants to meet immediate and urgent needs. Families used these funds for groceries, utilities, and enrichment materials for house-bound children.
Never before has it been more true: It Takes a Village and We Are All in This Together. Thank you to those of you who donated to our fund and helped us make this support possible.
